ACT Tests
The STCE Science Department provides students with full-length science ACT tests to be taken outside of class in preparation for the ACT test. Answer keys and scoring sheets are provided with each test. If desired, a student can make an appointment with their teacher to review the results of their test.
By taking full-length tests, students are able to experience what it would be like to take the full test on testing day. The test testing environment of the practice test should simulate as closely as possible the testing condition of the real ACT. This practice helps to alleviate the anxiety associated with the unfamiliarity of the test itself as well as to provide students with an accurate idea of their score such that they can have a specific goal to reach. Students who participated in such practice increased their ACT Science score by an average of 3.30 scale score points from the practice test. We also saw students that participated in three science practice tests increase their score by an average of 4.88 scale points.
All students are welcome to take the practice tests which can be found by accessing the ACT Science Tests folder.
Students will download each test in PDF format where they can then print the test for use.
After each test is completed, click on the links at the bottom of each PDF test for scoring KEY and RAW SCORE information.
