Progress Learning (formerly Horizon) Pre-ACT Test

General Information

The Progress Learning Test will be given on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 to all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students.
Seniors will have a non-attendance day on this date. Senior students are encouraged to use this day to complete college applications, make a college visit, apply for scholarships or participate in the Saint Charles Job Shadowing program.
This will be an online (digital) exam and students will need to bring their charged school-issued Chromebooks; personal devices are not allowed.
Students should arrive at school no later than 7:15am.
Students should go straight to their testing rooms, which will be shared out in the days leading up to the exam via email.
Students should leave everything except their Chromebook, something to write with, and a calculator (if desired) in their locker. An approved calculator may also be brought to the testing room if desired, but is not required, as a DESMOS calculator is built into the digital test.
No bags will be allowed in the testing room.
No digital devices will be allowed in the testing room.
Testing will begin promptly at 7:15 a.m.
Any student arriving after 7:25 a.m. will not be able to test and will be sent home or to the auditorium. Absent/late students will have the option to take a make-up exam on Monday, October 6th and will be invited to take the make-up test via email.
Students can bring a snack and/or beverage (with a lid) to have during the scheduled break. Snacks and beverages must remain under the student's desk or can be left on the teacher’s desk until the scheduled breaks. Food must be eaten away from desks and test materials.

Students Should Bring…

Please bring:

A photo ID
Two writing utensils (these are to be used with school-supplied scratch paper - pen, pencil, mechanical pencil, etc. are all acceptable).
Your fully updated and charged Chromebook
Chromebook charging cord
An approved calculator, if desired; a DESMOS calculator is built-in to all Math sections
A snack and/or beverage with a lid, if desired
A book or homework for after ALL testing has concludedStudents will not be able to read/complete work in between testing sessions!

Testing Room Assignments

All students will receive an email with their Room number assignment one week and one day prior to testing. If a student is unsure of where to go, please reach out to Ms. Gomez at katharine.gomez@d303.org or any other teacher within the building.
