Current unit learning targets:

I can identify post-WWII economic transformations and assess their impact on America.

I can define the Cold War and describe our involvement, including the arms race, Korea and Vietnam.

I can describe and evaluate America’s role in the post-Cold War world, including the War on Terrorism.

This course prepares students to take the U.S. Constitution Test. Students learn about the government, including the three branches. Citizen rights and responsibilities are reviewed and an awareness of both civil and criminal law are taught. Students will use current events as a springboard for discussion of these topics. In addition, students study American History from the industrial revolution to the present. Societal relationships, the criminal justice system, due process of the law, and basic civil rights are also included in the curriculum.
