Astronomy:
Be able to describe the Stellar Evolution of the Sun and apply this to an H-R diagram.
Know the DSO's (3c in the rules). Be able to ID them and explain what they are.
Be able to explain multiwavelength images of Sirius B.
Optics:
Be able to explain the structure and function of the eye.
Be able to explain the electromagnetic spectrum and its features.
Be able to explain how a telescope functions.
Know the geometric optics vocabulary.
Remote:
Be able to apply 3a, 3c and 3f in the rules.
Thermodynamics:
Know the vocabulary and ideas related to 4 b iii.
Fermi and WIDI: We will do real examples and score them.
Tech Prob Solving:
Know your rules!
You will have a working station to try too!
Bio Event Scrimmage Expectations:
Forestry: General Leaf terms (simple, compound, serrated, etc) and ID of large groups of trees such as oak, maple, birch, etc.
Water Quality: Study only part A of the rules. (No Macroinvetebrates yet)
Protein Modeling: General protein knowledge (like what would be found in your Bio book)
Amino Acids, primary, secondary, tertiary structure, etc. Nothing about the specific
protein for this year.
Anatomy: Gross anatomy of each system. Be able to ID parts and functions for organs of all 3 systems
Disease: General epidemiology terms from the rules page/website. For the scrimmage you will not be solving a whole case yourself.
