Well, this is what you all have been waiting for!
You and your group (limit 3 people in a group) will design your own house/condo/mansion/etc. of your own choosing. You will have complete freedom to design your future abode any which way you like. We have discussed various shapes and their properties, so now you will be able to use that knowledge to create a place that will meet the standards you set for yourselves. Thinking of a big back yard? Design it! A state of the art kitchen? Design it! You will be responsible to explain all costs of all the necessary materials you will need and provide an expense report detailing every item. You are limited to a budget of $500,000. You will have 3 weeks to complete this project.
You are encouraged to use geometry software such as Geometer's Sketchpad, Geogebra,etc. to create a draft of your design, and if you're up for a challenge, a blueprint! You will present your design to the class using a virtual presentation tool such as Prezi, Glogster, Etc. The class will vote for the winning design and the winners will have their home displayed on my website. For this project, you will utilize many online applications to communicate with your peers (discussion boards), collect & organize information (Padlet) that you research as well take small short formative assessments to show your understanding.
