Job Searching and Transitioning
Beautiful people, I have reviewed hundreds of resumes for churches as they consider an applicant for their youth ministry position. As you prepare your resume, here are a couple of things I hope you will keep in mind.
Do not include a picture of yourself. This is not only a professional turnoff, in my opinion, but it also, unfortunately, gives people room to judge us before they even read about us.
Keep to one page if possible. Given your journey thus far, that should not be hard
Be concise
Do not include high school information
I have included sample resumes from alumni/fellows and also one that a professional helped us with. I was the guinea pig and it offers another format to choose from
Please ask someone to review before you submit. I am happy to offer my two cents and I know your coach or regional director is happy to help as well. You have worked hard and done great things, make sure your first impression is a solid one and not a resume based on the latest cute fad on Pinterest.
Shalom,
Lesleigh
