Auditions will be held on Tuesday, November 4th immediately after school.
Time slots can be found below. Students will report to the Blue House Commons immediately after school. Turn in all completed paperwork when you enter for your audition. Students may leave once their audition is done.
Auditioning does not guarantee a role in the production. Following auditions, a musical will be chosen and callbacks will be posted. The size of the cast needed will depend on the musical choice.
To Audition, students must print & complete the following two forms and complete the online sign up:
Complete & read the musical agreement with a parent or guardian.
Complete the calendar conflict sheet and sign it.

Lead & Supporting Roles must:
Memorize two monologues (One Dramatic & One Comedic)
Memorize two songs (One Ballad & One Upbeat)
Ensemble must:
Memorize one monologue (Dramatic OR Comedic)
Memorize one song (Ballad or Upbeat)
Audition Components
Please prepare the following for your audition:
1. Comedic Monologue
Length: 1–2 minutes
Requirements: Choose a monologue from a published play or musical. The piece should showcase your comedic timing and character work.

2. Dramatic Monologue
Length: 1-2 minutes
Requirements: Select a dramatic monologue from a published play or musical. Highlight your emotional range and depth.

3. Musical Theatre Ballad
Length: One full song or up to 32 bars
Requirements: Pick a ballad (slow, emotional song) from a Broadway or Off-Broadway musical. Choose a piece that suits your vocal range and storytelling ability.
4. Upbeat Musical Theatre Song
Length: One full song or up to 32 bars
Requirements: Choose an upbeat, energetic number from a Broadway or Off-Broadway show. This should highlight your personality and stage presence. Our focus is musical theatre. We do NOT want to hear songs that you can hear on the radio.
Tips for Success
Select material that suits your vocal range and strengths.
Familiarize yourself with the emotions conveyed by your selection.
Memorize all material.
Be ready to sing your song accapella.
Do not stand in one spot…use your body, facial expressions and tone to convey emotion.
Below are examples of comedic and dramatic monologues. Feel free to find your own if you prefer. Monologues must be 1 to 2 minutes in length.

When I grow up I’m going to be the biggest queen there ever was, and I’ll live in a big palace and when I go out in my coach, all the people will wave and I will shout at them, and…and…in the summertime I will go to my summer palace and I’ll wear my crown in swimming and everything, and all the people will cheer and I will shout at them… What do you mean I can’t be queen? Nobody should be kept from being a queen if she wants to be one. It’s usually just a matter of knowing the right people...well…if I can’t be a queen, then I’ll be very rich then I will buy myself a queendom. Yes, I will buy myself a queendom and then I’ll kick out the old queen and take over the whole operation myself. I will be head queen.”
SpongeBob:
No, Mr. Krabs! I’ll find a way to stop that volcano! WE’ll use science, like Sandy said. We can use her jetpack to get to the top! Wait, pretty sure it’s only built for one.
