Thank you for visiting my website! Let's work together to keep our kiddos active and engaged during this unusual time. Please, please, please, reach out to me at anytime with any questions or concerns, and I will always be available!
Many of my friends have asked me, "What are you going to have your kids do at home during this time?" And the very best advice that I can give to families during this time is to READ - READ - READ! Keep reading, and read everything! Dig out any books that you have and read them! I love to hear my kids reading out loud to me! Take moments during your reading and discuss your thoughts and make it fun! And do the same with writing! Jot down notes, keep a journal, create a book, write a grocery list, or a wish list.... but keep it fun!
Epic Books is a fabulous online resource that students can access! All of my students have an account - our login code is kdl9888. They offer a wide variety of books, and students can choose what interests them most.

eSpark is also an amazing online resource where students can find a variety of reading materials, and they offer math too! Recently, I have set up an account for each one of my third grade reading students. I will be able to give you your username and password if you send me an email request. It is a very kid friendly tool that students can use independently.

As you are spending this time at home with your families, please know that these are just some resources that you can incorporate into your day. I would very strongly advise beginning with 15 to 30 minutes (total time) per day with any of these activities. But each child is different. Listen to your child and be flexible. Start out with 15 minutes and gradually increase that time as you feel you are ready. I look forward to seeing you all soon and hearing from you too!!!
Love,
Mrs. Stiffler
