Greetings! Currently in my 37th year of teaching music, I have been at Conemaugh Valley since November 1, 2001. Prior to that, I taught K-12 Music in the Harmony Area School District for 5 years, 2 years part-time at both Blacklick Valley (Instrumental Music grades 4-12) and Bishop Carroll High School (all Music for grades 9-12), followed by 8+ years full time at Bishop Carroll, which included Instrumental Music in grades 4-6 at Holy Name Elementary School for 3 years. Here at CV, I am responsible for grades 4-12 Instrumental Music, grades 7-12 Chorus and 7th Grade Fundamentals of Music, as well as the Marching Blue Jays Band and Concert Band. My other school involvements include director of the CVHS Drama Company, member of the high school Student Assistance Program team, co-advisor of the Senior Class, and chairperson for the CVSD Safety Committee. In school-related roles, I serve as the President of the Cambria County Band Directors Association and as the Elementary Fest Coordinator for Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 6 (Cambria, Blair, Somerset and Bedford counties). Along with this, I am the coordinator for the District 6 Elementary Band Fest Percussion Ensemble, a specialized group that focuses on teaching advanced percussion techniques in a clinic/performance setting to aspiring 6th grade percussion students from participating schools.
