Who is Mrs. Deisenroth?

I grew up in San Jose, California.

I attended college at UC Santa Cruz, where I got my BA in US History with an emphasis on Africa. I then attended San Jose State University for my teaching credentials, and most recently I attended Cal State East Bay for my Masters in Educational Leadership.

I currently hold two teaching credentials - one for History, and one for English.

I taught for 5 years at John Muir Middle School in San Jose before I started working here at Canyon.

I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Language Arts, Social Studies, and Intervention classes as well as the WEB elective.

I currently teach 8th grade US History.

I SO enjoy teaching, but middle school is my favorite! I love the humor, creativity, and ideas that my students bring to my class every day.

When I'm not at school, I spend time with my boys Carter and Evan.

I love to cook (which is great, because I also love to EAT!). I also enjoy painting, light hiking, and reading.

I'm an animal lover, and I have a dog and two cats. I would love to see a photo of your pets too!
