Homework is taking me too long. Help! What do I do now?
If my homework is taking more than 15-20 minutes per class, outside of reading and extra practice, there is a problem we need to solve.
Try the following.
-Practice binder organization: keep current class work in one labeled section of the three-ring binder.
-Make sure the homework time is focused, with all books and supplies ready in a quiet place to work.
-Use a timer. During the 15-20 minutes, keep working on the assignment(s).
-Schedule breaks! When time is up, take a 5-10 minute break before beginning work for the next class.
-Prioritize. It may works best to tackle summative assignments first, then formatives if time allows.
If none of these strategies help, please let me know so we can work together to solve the problem.
