About ME
Hi! I'm Monica Manolescu and I teach Math. I grew up in Romania, both of my parents having math and computer science related jobs (including teaching). I might say I was inspired by their work, especially my father's math thinking. Beside my school teachers, he was my mentor at home. I am married with a Romanian man and we have two wonderful kids, Isabela and Tudor, and a sweet puppy named Spot. I graduated from High School in 1998 and I participated in many math olympiads during those years. In the fall of 1998, I started my studies at Faculty of Mathematics, University of Bucharest; the main study was mathematics followed by computer science. Of course, I enjoyed math the most and this is the reason why I teach math today and I'm not a computer programmer. Following these, I received my Single Credential in Math from San Jose State University. My life outside school includes traveling, cooking (almost every day), biking (almost every week), skiing (every winter), and beading (for fun!). I also write poetry in Romanian. I love having friends around and I love parties! I believe that a day is too short to loose time but in the same moment, it's long enough to fit all we need. Remember! We have time for everything we want to do -- learning, dreaming, playing etc. -- as long as we're organized and we know our limits.
Rules? What about understanding and explaining WHY? Open your mind!!! Ask yourself WHY!!! It is my goal to make you successful in Math. Please take advantage of this and ask question and ask for help when needed! Note: please don't memorize MATH! It's useless! Understand what you're doing and WHY and you'll be successful!!!
