Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to Kindergarten in Room 4! I hope you have had a wonderful summer and are as excited for this school year as I am! I am thrilled to have your child in my classroom and I look forward to working with you to make your child’s year in Kindergarten both a successful and memorable one. In addition to focusing on the academic growth of your child, I also want to encourage your child’s creativity, social skills, and special talents and abilities. I look forward to becoming more familiar with your child, not only as a student, but also as a unique and special individual.

Here are a few things I want to let you know as we get started:

1. School is from 8:30am – 2:35 pm (2:00 pm on Tuesdays). Traffic is terrible so please allow extra time to get to school in the morning. Walking to school is strongly encouraged.

2. If your child is getting a recess snack and/or hot lunch from school, please be sure your child understands this before coming to school. I need to take an accurate count in the morning.

3. If your child is not getting meals from school, please make sure they have a snack for recess and a lunch(be sure they know what to eat for snack and what to save for lunch).

4. Please write your child’s name on all personal items sent to school. This includes lunch boxes, backpacks, jackets, sweaters, etc.

5. Please make sure your child uses the bathroom before coming to class each day.

Please note that my first priority is to this class and your children so I am unavailable to answer questions or concerns during school hours.
