Botvin Lifeskills

Botvin Life Skills is an evidence-based substance abuse and violence prevention program. At Conemaugh Township, students receive Botvin LifeSkills curriculum at the middle school level (grades 6-8). It is part of the rotation of specials for students in 6th grade and delivered throughout the year in grades 7 and 8.

Rather than merely teaching information about the dangers of drug abuse, Botvin LifeSkills program promotes healthy alternatives to risky behavior. Throughout the program, students develop strategies for making healthy decisions, reducing stress, managing anger, as well as strengthening their communication skills and learning how to build healthy relationships.

The program is implemented through a partnership with Twin Lakes Center. For more information about the program, please refer to the Botvin LifeSkills Training Program website.
