DGS FOOTBALL COMBINE

All boys and girls in 3rd-8th grade are invited to the DGS Football Combine! Participate in the 40-yard dash, Pro Agility, Punt, Pass, Kicking and more! All participants will receive DGS Football swag, and both the DGS Boys and Girls Head Football Coaches will be there to welcome future Mustangs.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: IHSA CHANGES & SUMMER CAMP CHANGES as of 2/18/26

I want to share a quick schedule update. Last Friday, the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) changed requirements and start dates for the upcoming season due to a higher-than-expected number of teams qualifying for the playoffs.

In addition, the IHSA Medical Committee has mandated additional practices before the first game and moved the official start date to Wednesday, August 5—five days earlier than the August 10 start date we originally planned. We know this change may impact summer plans and vacations, and we apologize for the inconvenience. These adjustments are required and beyond our control. SUMMER SCHEDULE NOTES

Varsity Camp & Basketball Conflict (Week of 6/15)

- During the week of 6/15, there may be overlap with basketball camp. Any athlete with a direct conflict must attend basketball camp. We will work around conflicts as best we can and communicate expectations for players involved in both sports.

Frosh/Soph Week 1 Time Adjustment

- - To avoid basketball conflicts and accommodate basketball floor construction, Frosh/Soph camp will run:
  - June 20–23 | 10:30 AM–1:00 PM (Week 1 only)
  - All remaining Frosh/Soph camp times remain as listed above

IHSA START DATE

August 5 is Day 1 of official practice and acclimatization (2026 season start).
Players must complete at least 12 practices before our first game on 8/21–8/22 (Home vs. West Aurora).

SUMMER VACATIONS

We understand some families may already have vacations planned, especially with the season start date moving earlier. We will do our best to work with players, but the IHSA practice requirement is firm. Every athlete must complete the required number of practices before 8/21.

Please make every effort to ensure your player attends summer camp as consistently as possible. The more time we have together this summer, the safer and more prepared our athletes will be when the season begins.
