Third grade begins with review of place value and quickly moves into the topics of rounding, estimation, properties of addition, and adding/subtracting with regrouping. By October your child will begin the first multiplication topic followed closely by division. Future topics include Area as it relates to multiplication and addition. Understanding Fractions as Numbers, Fraction Equivalence and Comparison, Solve Time, Capacity, and Mass problems, Attributes of Two-Dimensional Shapes, and Representing and Interpret Data.
