Cindy struggled through many years in the public school system. We knew there was something “missing” in her education but didn’t know what it was.
We enrolled her at CCS in fifth grade, and within weeks the school asked for permission to test her. As parents, it was difficult to hear that in addition to her previously diagnosed ADD, Cindy also has learning disabilities; at the same time, it was a relief because CCS had a great program to help her. Finally, we were able to begin a plan for Cindy's education that would work for her.
Cindy completed five years of educational therapy, from sixth grade through tenth grade. Throughout those five years, she worked hard, and the teachers and staff worked with her through her assignments and tests. However, the greatest improvement we saw in Cindy was an amazing change in her opinion of herself as a person. She has become self-confident. She has learned skills which will carry
her through her life in college and beyond. What a blessing her experience at CCS has been!
Our children started attending CCS in middle school. Steve was in 8th grade and his teachers right away noticed that he was struggling. Everyone was very loving and genuinely concerned about him. Steve was tested and it was shown that he had a weakness in reading and reading comprehension.
Steve started with educational therapy the following year in 9th grade and continued through 11th grade. We were very diligent with the rhythmic writing exercises with him at home and periodically observed him during his educational therapy sessions at school. We truly were amazed with the math problems he solved during rhythmic writing and all other simultaneous activities he was performing during the sessions.
We saw Steve continue improving and progressing in his grades and achieve honor roll on a regular basis. At the end of 11th grade, Steve was retested and the results of those tests showed great improvement in his reading abilities and reading comprehension. Our daughter is currently in the educational therapy program and we anticipate she will also benefit greatly.
We appreciate everyone at CCS who was involved in our children’s growth and improved ability to learn. The educational therapy program at CCS is wonderful and all of the teachers really care and work hard to help their students.
