Technology Class Procedures:
Be in your seat, quiet, logging on, and ready to work when the tardy bell rings
DAILY TYPING. You will work on keyboarding skills for the first ten minutes of class. Your results will be recorded automatically as you complete each lesson. You must complete all the lessons in order, but you may go back and practice on any lessons that you have already completed. Focus on correct posture and finger position.
When finished with daily typing place keyboard covers on top of computer in front of your monitor.
Complete assignments
Do not spend the time browsing other websites.
Do not change the settings on your computer.
No music unless given permission (only with headphones)
No use of personal devices unless given permission from teacher
General Expectations for typing tests
Grade 5 - 18 WPM/100% accuracy
Grade 6 - 21 WPM/100% accuracy
Grade 7 - 25 WPM/100% accuracy
Grade 8 - 30 WPM/100% accuracy
General Expectations for daily typing (by end of grading period)
Grade 5 - 18 Badges at 95% accuracy or 15 Badges at 100%
Grade 6 - 23 Badges at 95% accuracy or 19 Badges at 100%
Grade 7 - 28 Badges at 95% accuracy or 23 Badges at 100%
Grade 8 - 34 Badges at 95% accuracy or 28 Badges at 100%
Keyboarding Rewards
Each week students will earn rewards for each lessons completed
Students will earn more rewards as they complete the Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Practice Levels
Clipper Keyboarding Hall of Fame
Students will compete in typing competitions for a chance to be entered into the CLIPPER Keyboarding Hall of Fame
End of Class Procedures:
Continue working on assignments until asked to log off. If you finish the assignment early, you may help a neighboring student who needs help, complete an extension activity, or practice keyboarding.
Log out of the computer
Remain seated until you are dismissed
Remember to push in your chairs when leaving your work area
Keep your work area clean
