Concert Band

Band Expectations

• 1. I will come to each rehearsal quickly, quietly and prepared to create music with my peers.

  2. I am responsible for my own materials at the beginning and end of each rehearsal.

  3. I will bring a pencil, my folder with my music, and my instrument to class to every rehearsal.

  4. I am responsible for the safety and care of my instrument.

  5. I will ask pertinent questions, and will listen actively during rehearsals, even if Mr. Bjella is working with another section of the band.

  6. I understand it is my responsibility to speak with Mr. Bjella after class, through email, or at another time if I have additional questions, concerns, or ideas.

  7. I understand Band is only during odd four-week rotations, and will continue to practice and enhance my skills during even rotations.

  8. I will plan ahead to attend all concerts this year, and communicate with Mr. Bjella ahead of time if something changes.

• September 25th - Jazz Band Auditions (Rehearsals begin October 16th)

• November: District III Music Festival Auditions

• December 16th - CMS Winter Band Concert - 6:30pm - Colchester Highschool PAC

  • Concert dress: professional, semi-formal, no logos

• March 8th - Colchester School District All District Concert - Colchester High School Gymnasium

  • Blue CSD Tee Shirts

• May 15th - CMS Spring Chorus Concert - 6:30pm - Colchester Highschool PAC

  • Concert dress: professional, semi-formal, no logos
