Power School / Grades

Mrs. Keaton's Grading Policy

Grades will be updated weekly in Powerschool. Report cards will be sent out quarterly, or at student's request.

Per CMS policy, the grade breakdown will be as follows:

Q1: Formal Assignments (Tests, projects, etc): 60%

Informal Assignments (Homework, classwork, etc): 20%

Midterm Exam: 20%

Q2: Formal Assignments (Tests, projects, etc): 70%

Informal Assignments (Homework, classwork, etc): 30%

Course Grade breakdown:

Q1: 40%

Q2: 40%

Final Exam: 20%

Retest Policy:

Students who score below a 79% on a formal assessment will have days to complete additional practice and retest to improve the grade. The new grade cannot be higher than 79%.

Late Work Policy:

Students may turn in assignments after the due date for partial credit. All late work will receive 50% credit. Ex. an assignment would have originally been scored as 80 points, you will receive 40 points credit if it is late.

Power School (Parent Portal)

Power School (Parent Portal) is the system that is used for student grades. Parents and students both can create individual accounts to track their progress in class.
