About Me

This is my fifth year at Hough High School and I am excited to be teaching in such a great school. I have 25 years of experience teaching science in both middle and high school. All but two years of my teaching career has been with CMS. I received my B.S. in Secondary Science Education from Clemson University in 1984 and began teaching in S.C. After two years I moved to Charlotte and began teaching in CMS. After some years with CMS, I left for eight years to stay at home with my two sons. I came back to CMS in 2000 and began teaching at Bradley Middle School in Huntersville. While teaching there, I received my National Board Certification in 2010 in EA Science.

I grew up in Central, S.C. which is a small town about four miles from Clemson, S.C. and always knew I would go to Clemson University. My mother, two brothers and two sisters and their families all live in the area. Both of my brothers graduated from Clemson and my two sisters work for Clemson University. We are a huge Clemson family-GO TIGERS!!! There is nothing in college football to compare with Clemson football.

My favorite students were my sons, Jake and Grayson, who both graduated from Hopewell High School. Nothing is more important to me than family! I love to cook and also walk about 20 miles per week to keep in shape and relieve stress.
