4th grade Recorder

Mr. Luna uses a classroom recorder method called "Recorder Karate." This method helps 4th grade students learn how to play musical recorders and read sheet music. Recorder Karate has proven to be highly successful in our classroom, and the creator of the program states the following:"At the heart of this method is a positive reward system in which students receive colored "karate belts" to hang from their recorders for each progressively more difficult tune." - Barb PhilipakBesides the belts, another source of motivation for students are the spring concert performances. Please note the dates below, and Mr. Luna will send more information several weeks before each concert date.

Mr. Luna teaches 4th grade recorders/classroom music at Dry Creek and Cole Elementary.
