Hello! I am Laura Riley, and I teach English Honors 10 and AP US Government at Buchanan High School. Before I began teaching, I practiced law for almost 15 years as an attorney. I earned a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Gonzaga School of Law in Washington and a Masters Degree in Labor Law (L.L.M.) from Georgetown Law Center in Washington, D.C. As an undergraduate, I received a B.A. from U.C. Davis in International Relations. I first worked as an Attorney Advisor for the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C. Next I worked as an Associate Attorney in a private labor law firm in Fresno and then as a Law Clerk for the judges at the Fresno Superior Court. I most recently worked as a Law Clerk writing and researching Habeas Corpus decisions for the Federal Court in Fresno.
I love teaching! My husband, Gary, and I have been married 30 years, and we have two daughters, Alexandra, 24, and Amy, 22 (See a picture of My Family, below).
