Math 2: 2023-24

Welcome to the new school year. I believe that this year the education process will be a combined effort between teacher, student, and parent.  Please contact me at any time if you see that your child is struggling.  We will be using Google Classroom and Delta Math predominantly this semester.  These sites will give you access to a pacing calendar, assignments, and practice problems given in Math 2.   The best way to stay in contact with me is via e-mail.  Together, I know we will have a great school year together!

Supplies:

The following supplies are recommended for Math 2:

Binder (can be a shared binder)          Scientific Calculator – recommended model Casio fx-115ES

Small Notebook (Notes and HW)       Laptops are recommended but not required

Course Grading:

         Grading Scale:        89.5-100%              A

                                             79.5-89.4%               B

                                             69.5-79.4%               C

                                             59.5-69.4%               D

                                             59.4% and below      F

·   Unit Tests: 70%

Tests show mastery of what is learned.  Teachers will review for these tests using reviews and a practice test.  Any student who is absent on a test day will be recorded as a zero.  These students will be expected to make up the test on the day they return to class or to make arrangements with the teacher to take the test.  Calculators may NOT be shared on test days.  Work must be shown to receive full credit.  Any test score below 70% can be retaken for up to a 70%. In order to retake a test, students will have to complete a remediation assignment first and make arrangements with the teacher.

·   Classwork/Homework:  30%

Students will receive points for taking notes and completing their homework.  Individual directions will be given in class that determine how these assignments will be given and graded.
