About Me

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all things history!

Professional: I started my educational career at Fresno State (GO BULLDOGS!) but transferred to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia where I graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Sociology.  I entered the credential program at National University, while also working as a substitute teacher. I was hired to teach with Central Unified School District and worked at Glacier Point Middle School for 6 years. At GP, I taught Physical and Earth Sciences, and US History (Colonial to the Civil War). I also coached Robotics and was a member of the Positive Behavior Intervention System team. Teaching middle school really helped me acquire valuable classroom management skills necessary for teaching teenagers!  In 2018, I jumped at the opportunity and was hired to teach at Buchanan. At BHS, I have taught American Government, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and modern US History.  I am a proud member of BEAR NATION.

Personal: In 2016 my husband, Nick, and I got married and welcomed our son, in 2017. In 2019 our lives got a little more chaotic when our identical twin daughters joined our family. We have 9 year old lab who keeps the kids entertained and loves to bark at any noise she hears. Our children attend schools in the Buchanan area and we are happy to be members of this wonderful community.
