About Ms. Davidson

I'm Ms. Davidson and this is my ninth year teaching science at Clark. I am not new to the area, as I was a Red Bank, Clark, and Clovis High student back in the day. I love being able to return to the halls and classroom I once roamed and teach the next generation of students.

After graduating from Clovis High, I attended the Smittcamp Family Honor College Scholar at Fresno State, earning a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Geography. While at Fresno State, I participated in many different projects as a research assistant, including spending two summers mapping underwater habitats in the San Juan Islands, Washington and a semester with the salmon unit at the San Joaquin Hatchery. After Fresno State, I moved to Vancouver Island, Canada to pursue a Master of Science in Earth and Ocean Science. Here, I discovered my love of teaching. I taught 3 semesters of introduction to geology lab to students of all majors. I loved the challenge of convincing my students that rocks are fun! After Canada, I spent a year as a substitute teacher and realized I enjoyed working at the intermediate level. I was fortunate to be given the opportunity to return Clark as a teacher in the 2015/2016 school year.

In 2022, I received my Masters of Science in Science Education from Montana State University. I loved the opportunity to collaborate with my professors and classmates from around the world in pursuing the newest research and best practices in science education. This included spending two summers taking field courses in and around Bozeman, Montana, including Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. My capstone project focused on methods to increase whole class discussion in a middle school science classroom.

Outside the classroom, I love spending time outdoors and traveling. I started running 10 years ago and have completed 3 full marathons and many half marathons, 10ks, 5ks, etc. Most of my summer break is spent searching for the next challenging hike. I'm also always on the hunt for the next road trip and love visiting places along the West Coast. I love searching for the next race to run, mountain to hike, or city to explore!

I'm looking forward to another great year of exploring the wonderful world of science!
