COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course develops knowledge and technical skills in the broad field of agricultural machinery, equipment, and structures. The primary purpose of this course is to prepare students to handle day-to-day problems and repair needs they will encounter in their chosen agricultural career. Topics include agricultural mechanics safety, agricultural engineering career opportunities, hand/power tool use and selection, electrical wiring, basic metal working, and basic leadership development.
To learn and understand the agricultural mechanics industry students should be ready to work both inside the classroom and on all of our agriculture labs. All students must have completed a parent/student safety agreement. Students should understand the benefits and responsibilities of this component of the course and be willing participants.
