About Mrs. Ray

Hello!

My name is Stacy Ray and I am one of the first grade teachers at Cardinal Foley Catholic School. I currently live in Lansdale, PA with my husband Rick and my two children. My daughter Tabitha who is 19 years old, and my son Nicholas who is 17years old. Tabitha will be a sophomore at West Chester University this fall while my son will be a senior in high school. Our family has a lab beagle mix dog named Bailey who is 6 years old (she is also a major diva) and we just adopted a King Charles Cavalier named Chester.

I grew up in Johnstown, Pa and attended Westmont Hilltop High School. Then I was accepted to Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. This year I am going back to school for my masters degree at Immaculata University. My hobbies include: reading, walking, cross stitching, and spending time with my family in Ocean City, New Jersey.

This is my 12th year of teaching in Catholic education. I taught pre-k at a Montessori School before I had my children. Then I taught kindergarten and first grade at St. John the Evangelist in Yardley, Pa for 2 years before the school closed. I was hired at Cardinal Foley when the school became Cardinal Foley and I have continued to enjoy my teaching experiences here.

I love first grade because it is the bridge between playing and learning. The children are capable of doing so much today. First grade is more academically challenging then kindergarten but it still needs to be engaging and fun and that is how I like to teach. I get to nurture and see the children grow from writing a couple of words in the beginning of the year to writing a story by the end of the year. It is amazing! The same thing goes for their reading. Some can read and some cannot and some just a little but they will be reading by the end of first grade!

I like teaching at Cardinal Foley because I feel a lot of support from our parents, staff, clergy, and most importantly from our Principal Mrs. DeAngelo. Everyone is willing to work with one another and help each other and that creates a very positive and healthy work place to be apart of!
