MONDAY: Wear full uniform,
We are going on a neighbourhood field trip as part of our inquiry project. Please ensure your child has a warm jacket. No permission forms need to be signed as the general permission slip, from the beginning of the year, covers outings such as this.
We are leaving right away so please be on time.

WEDNESDAY: Pink Shirt Day (anti-bullying), Wear uniform with pink shirt
THURSDAY: Wear uniform, Hot Lunch, Library

DR. SEUSS DAY is coming soon! I sent the information in an email at the beginning of January and in a recent email (Feb.17). Please help your child prepare a costume to wear on Monday, March 2. Some of the activities that your child will do are related to their costume. As mentioned, there are so many possibilities and they can be homemade without costing much/any money and little time.
With a variety of costumes it makes our day even more interesting. Check online for ideas.
Information about our upcoming Inquiry Project and a questionnaire went home on Thursday, February 5. We greatly appreciate your family taking the time to complete the questionnaire. Please return your child's questionnaire on TUESDAY, Feb. 17, if you have not done so.
Your child needs the information for the activities we are doing with our Inquiry Project.
Your child can collect a bit of sturdy cardboard (like delivery/Amazon boxes that would be plain on the inside). Also useful would be a few empty toilet paper rolls.
Please send in on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
THANK YOU to Romeo's Hillside for providing us with large pizza boxes for one of our activities. We appreciate their generosity and I encourage you to support this St. Pat's family restaurant.
THANK YOU for all of the lovely valentines! Mrs. Blanco, Miss MacKenzie, Miss Fortune and I feel the love from the children every day but this was extra special!

STUDENTS MUST HAVE A PROPER RAIN/WINTER COAT
AT SCHOOL EVERY DAY!
Some children are not coming dressed appropriately for the weather. A hoody is not rain proof and children are coming in soaked after recess. They are wet and cold and then they only have a wet hoody to wear at their next outdoor time.
We have a lot of rainy days and boots should be worn on those days.
As mentioned before, an extra pair of dry socks in the backpack is helpful.
Thanks for your cooperation and checking to make sure your child is prepared.

OUTDOOR CLOTHING
LABEL ALL CLOTHING!
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD WEAR APPROPRIATE OUTDOOR CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR FOR THE WEATHER!
COATS/JACKETS ARE A MUST!
COATS SHOULD TO BE WATERPROOF AND BOOTS ARE BEST FOR RAINY DAYS.
WHATEVER YOUR CHILD WEARS ON THEIR FEET WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT SCHOOL IS WHAT THEY WEAR OUTSIDE.
SORRY, WE DON'T HAVE ROOM TO STORE OUTDOOR RUNNERS AND BOOTS,
SO PLEASE CHOOSE WHICHEVER IS BEST ON ANY GIVEN DAY.
THE SCHOOL HOODY IS FINE FOR MILD DAYS BUT THEY GET WET/SOAKED IN RAIN.
CONSIDER SLIPPING AN EXTRA PAIR OF SOCKS INTO THE BACKPACK.
CHILDREN DO GO OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN UNLESS IT'S "MONSOON-LIKE".
IF YOU THINK YOUR CHILD WOULD BENEFIT FROM WEARING "SPLASH PANTS" OUTSIDE,
PLEASE SEND THEM AND I WILL REMIND THE CHILDREN TO WEAR THEM.
WEARING A PAIR OF WARM PANTS, SUCH AS SWEAT PANTS OR FLEECE PANTS, UNDER A SKIRT/TUNIC FOR OUTSIDE PLAY, IS FINE, HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT PART OF THE UNIFORM AND SHOULD BE REMOVED WHEN THEY ARE INSIDE.
DON'T WORRY, THE CLASSROOM IS WARM.
GYM STRIP REMINDERS
WEAR: SHORT SLEEVE GREEN SCHOOL T-SHIRT, BLUE SCHOOL SHORTS, WHITE SOCKS, INDOOR RUNNERS (KEPT AT SCHOOL)
TIGHTS & LEGGINGS SHOULD NOT BE WORN UNDER THE SHORTS.
THEY NEED TO BE ABLE TO MOVE FREELY AND NOT GET OVER-HEATED.
THE SCHOOL TRACK SUIT (LONG PANTS & HOODY) IS WORN OVER TOP OF THE SHORTS & T-SHIRT WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN THE GYM (IN THE CLASSROOM & OUTSIDE). CHILDREN SHOULD ARRIVE AT SCHOOL WEARING THE TRACK SUIT
OVER TOP OF THE THEIR GYM STRIP. THANKS FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.

For Spring/Summer Months:
HOT WEATHER INFORMATION
Water bottles are mandatory! I will be making sure students are drinking their water.
Sun hats & sunscreen are necessary! Please apply sunscreen before arriving at school and if you send some,
I will remind your child to re-apply it before lunch recess.
Our classroom is not air-conditioned. I keep the blinds closed in the morning to keep the sun out and open the windows to get cool morning air. We also have a door to outside which can sometimes allow for breeze, if there is any, BUT it can still be quite hot in late Spring/early Summer.

I pride myself on my communication and strive to keep this website updated on a daily basis.
Check the side bar for specific sections. The Book Shelf lists some of the books that I have read to the children and you may be interested in checking them out.
Each week I will have a weekly schedule for you to check. It will tell you which uniform your child is to wear and give you reminders about class and school events.
