Weekly Schedules and Information

CELEBRATION OF LEARNING

Mark your calendars!

Thursday, June 13, 9:00 am*

We will celebrate our year in grade 2 and acknowledge each student. We hope that at least one parent/adult family member can be there for each child. More are welcome.

I will be sending home a note to get a general idea of how many chairs will be needed.  We will be done around 9:30 am.  I hope you can join us!

*I chose the earliest time in hopes that more parents could juggle their work schedule.

OUTDOOR CLOTHING

LABEL ALL CLOTHING!

PLEASE HAVE YOUR CHILD WEAR APPROPRIATE OUTDOOR CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR FOR THE WEATHER!

COATS/JACKETS ARE A MUST!

COATS SHOULD TO BE WATERPROOF AND BOOTS ARE BEST FOR RAINY DAYS.

WHATEVER YOUR CHILD WEARS ON THEIR FEET WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT SCHOOL IS WHAT THEY WEAR OUTSIDE.

SORRY, WE DON'T HAVE ROOM TO STORE OUTDOOR RUNNERS AND BOOTS,

SO PLEASE CHOOSE WHICHEVER IS BEST ON ANY GIVEN DAY.

THE SCHOOL HOODY IS FINE FOR MILD DAYS BUT THEY GET WET/SOAKED IN RAIN.

CONSIDER SLIPPING AN EXTRA PAIR OF SOCKS INTO THE BACKPACK.

CHILDREN DO GO OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN UNLESS IT'S "MONSOON-LIKE".

IF YOU THINK YOUR CHILD WOULD BENEFIT FROM WEARING "SPLASH PANTS" OUTSIDE,

PLEASE SEND THEM AND I WILL REMIND THE CHILDREN TO WEAR THEM.

WEARING A PAIR OF WARM PANTS, SUCH AS SWEAT PANTS OR FLEECE PANTS, UNDER A SKIRT/TUNIC FOR OUTSIDE PLAY, IS FINE, HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT PART OF THE UNIFORM AND SHOULD BE REMOVED WHEN THEY ARE INSIDE.

DON'T WORRY, THE CLASSROOM IS WARM.

GYM STRIP REMINDERS

WEAR: SHORT SLEEVE GREEN SCHOOL T-SHIRT, BLUE SCHOOL SHORTS, WHITE SOCKS, INDOOR RUNNERS (KEPT AT SCHOOL)

TIGHTS & LEGGINGS SHOULD NOT BE WORN UNDER THE SHORTS.

THEY NEED TO BE ABLE TO MOVE FREELY AND NOT GET OVER-HEATED.

THE SCHOOL TRACK SUIT (LONG PANTS & HOODY) IS WORN OVER TOP OF THE SHORTS & T-SHIRT WHEN THEY ARE NOT IN THE GYM (IN THE CLASSROOM & OUTSIDE). CHILDREN SHOULD ARRIVE AT SCHOOL WEARING THE TRACK SUIT

OVER TOP OF THE THEIR GYM STRIP.  THANKS FOR YOUR CO-OPERATION.

This website is your source of information for Grade 2B.  PLEASE take the time to refer to it.

I pride myself on my communication and strive to keep this website updated on a daily basis.

Check the side bar for specific sections.  The Book Shelf lists some of the books that I have read to the children and you may be interested in checking them out.  As mentioned, in the Spelling note, the weekly Spelling words will be listed in the Spelling section in case your child is absent or you want to double-check the words.

Each week I will have a weekly schedule for you to check.  It will tell you which uniform your child is to wear and give you reminders about class and school events.

Also, if they have nuts at home, before school,

please make sure that hands & face are washed and teeth are brushed.

*The children with these life-threatening allergies did not ask to have them,

GYM STRIP:

Students are to wear SHORTS, gym shirt, white socks & indoor runners.

Please ensure that your child is wearing shorts under their sweat/track pants as these come off for gym time.

They need to be able to move freely and not get overheated. The long pants & hoody/sweat top can go back on after gym class if your child wants to wear them. As the weather gets cooler, the pants are expected to be worn outside. Thanks!

For Spring/Summer Months:

HOT WEATHER INFORMATION

Water bottles are mandatory! I will be making sure students are drinking their water.

Sun hats & sunscreen are necessary! Please apply sunscreen before arriving at school and, if you send some, I will remind your child to re-apply it before lunch recess.

Our classroom is not air-conditioned.  I keep the blinds closed in the morning to keep the sun out and open the windows to get cool morning air.  We also have a door to outside which can sometimes allow for breeze,

if there is any,  BUT it can still be quite hot.
