My Philosophy in Teaching:

Through the classes I have taken at College of Administrative and Financial Sciences / Cihan University - Erbil and my experiences in the classroom, I have developed a personal teaching philosophy that will be implemented into my future classrooms.

In my classroom, I want students to have a freedom that allows for expression and creativity. Students should be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and to realize their strengths and weaknesses. I feel it is beneficial for students to sometimes work for the answer rather than being told because it stretches their knowledge and teaches them how to find information in a variety of ways.

My teaching goal is to facilitate learning (helping students learn) and I believe that teaching plays a major role in that. Learning is primarily the student's responsibility, whereas teaching is my responsibility. My emphasis is on helping the student to learn, rather than just dispensing my knowledge to them. I believe that effective teaching is comprised of two necessary and related elements: knowledge of the content and ability to communicate it.

One of my goals is to use preventive and supportive behavior strategies more than corrective. From my educational experiences, I know how valuable teacher encouragement and motivation is for personal motivation.

Finally, I believe a teacher lives to serve. A teacher is dedicated to learning, to his or her discipline, to his or her students, and to making the future the best possible place for all of us to live. These are the challenges I accepted when I chose to be a teacher. I remain committed to them.
