Short Biography

Dr. Fatemeh Tavakkoli Currently, working as Lecturer in Department of Community Health, Medical Biochemical Analysis, Nutrition and Biology in College of Health Technology and Science, Cihan University -Erbil from October 2019 till date. Previously, she worked as Assistant Professor at Genetic Department, Faculty of Science, Payam Noor University, Sanandaj, Kurdistan, Iran.

She has done her PhD in field of Genetics (Stem Cell Therapy). Her PhD thesis entitled “Molecular characterization of human limbal stem cells- In Vitro” which was done under supervision of Dr. Vivek Singh (Scientist, L. V. Prasad Eye Institute. Hyderabad, India) and Dr. Amit Kumar Rai (Faculty member of Center for Genetic Disorders, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India). She has 12 years research (and study) experience in field of cellular & molecular biology, Drosophila genetics and stem cell biology. During these years she had 8 published articles in international journals, 1 book chapter, 4 manuscripts under preparation, presented 7 posters in international conferences and attended more than 25 international workshops, Seminars and training courses as well.

During her PhD, she was involved in understanding the role of limbal stem cells in corneal hemostasis and wound healing. Moreover besides, She is well versed with cell culture and molecular biology techniques like semi quantitative RT-PCR, Real Time-qPCR, microarray and next generation sequencing (NGS) based on transcriptome analysis, FACS, western blotting, ELISA and immunostaining. She has sound knowledge of different kinds of microscopic techniques and extensively used fluorescence and confocal microscopes during her research work. Further, She is capable of designing, executing and analyzing experiments independently and confident of working in/leading a team.
