Vestry Minutes, Reports, and Documents

This is the collection of minutes, reports, and documents from the Vestry of Christ Church Cathedral in Nashville, Tennessee from its founding in 1828 through the present day. In 1828, the church was known as "Chirst Church" and in 1997 the church became "Christ Church Cathedral."

The Archives of the Cathedral is in the process of transcribing all vestry minutes from 1828 until 1939 after which the minutes were all typewritten. For typewritten minutes, we used OCR to recognize the typewritten characters and to index the contents. For those minutes which were handwritten, there is one file in the archives that contains the scan of the original document and another document which contains the transcribed contents.

All typewritten and transcribed minutes in the archive are searchable using the search box above.

For an update on where we are with the transcription project, click HERE. We are missing a number of meeting minutes. If you know where we can locate copies, please contact us at archives@christcathedral.org so we might add those to the collection.

We owe special thanks to Natalie Goodwin, a professional transcriptionist, for working tirelessly on this project. Contact her at nmgoodwin27@gmail.com for more information on her work.
