Coach Burger is a Chippewa Falls alumni who is entering his 23rd season coaching football. As a player coach Burger played middle linebacker under the well revered defensive coordinator Ed Watkins and head coach Chuck Raykovich where he would contribute to two BRC titles. His coaching career would begin immediately following graduation in 2002 as an assistant with his father, Gary, in the CFYF program. He took over as the head coach for the following two seasons before being called up to the Chippewa Falls Middle School football program as an 8th grade head coach.
While coaching middle school he was provided an opportunity to serve as the color commentator on WOGO radio covering Chi-Hi varsity games. After two years coaching middle school he would get the opportunity he had been wanting. Coach Rayko and the crafty defensive coordinator Bart Olson would call to offer him a position coaching alongside the legendary Coach Tim Leis whom he had also played for. 2007 would mark the start of an incredible start for his varsity coaching career as he would help coach the Cardinals to back to back BRC titles in 2007 and 2008.
Upon graduating from UW-Stout in 2011 his career would lead him to Cornell High School where he would teach Marketing and Business and become the defensive coordinator for the football team. While there he would help to successfully negotiate a co-op between Cornell and Lake Holcombe High Schools and was hired as the team's first head coach. Before he could even begin he was offered a position he couldn't turn down, that being a business teacher at the Chippewa Falls Middle School. Coach Burger eagerly jumped at the opportunity to return to his alma mater as a teacher and freshmen football head coach.
In 2015 he would rejoin the varsity ranks as an outside linebackers coach and JV defensive coordinator under the intuitive leadership of Mike Bestul. During this season the Cardinals would have one of their best seasons to date. The Cardinals would win a share of the BRC title and advanced to level 4 of the playoffs being narrowly edged out of making the trip to Madison.
Coach Burger continued to serve in his roles until the 2022 season where he would take over as defensive coordinator for his predecessor Coach Bestul. He also continues to serve as the vice-president of Chippewa Falls Youth Football entering his 23rd year of service to the organization as a volunteer.
He was married to his incredible wife Lindsay in 2015. They reside in Chippewa Falls with their wonderful children Cassie and Reid.

My wife Bobi and I have 3 children Chloe, Collin and Claire. I was born and raised in Chippewa Falls. In high school, I played football for Chi Hi under Coach Raykovich. I am currently the head coach of the freshmen football team(s). I have been coaching football in Chippewa Falls for 7 years starting with youth tackle football then moving up to the middle school and now going on my second year as freshmen coach. What I love about coaching football is not only the game but building relationships with all the many great kids.
