NC Scholar Requirements

Students will receive a gold cord and special seal on their diploma if the following are met:

• • Overall four-year unweighted GPA of 3.50

  • 4 Credits English

  • 4 Credits Mathematics (Math I, II, III, & a higher level course such as Advance Functions or Pre-Calculus)

  • 4 Credits Social Studies

  • 3 Credits Science

  • 1 Credit Health/Physical Education

  • 2 Credits in a Second Language

  • 4 elective credits constituting a concentration from CTE, Art, Second Language, or any other subject

  • 3 Higher Level Courses taken during Junior and Senior (AP, Honors, College, or CTE Advanced Studies)

  • Completion of the North Carolina Graduation Project through the English IV course.
