Math 7 (Core 1, 2, and 3) Math 1 (Core 4)
Grading Breakdown:
- Tests/ Major Projects=40%
- Quizzes/ Mini Projects= 30%
- Classwork/Homework= 30%
MATH 1 ONLY: Final Grade- The final grade will also include the Math 1 EOC which will represent 20% of the grade. The final grade will be calculated the following way:
Semester 1=40%; Semester 2=40%; Math 1 EOC= 20%
Late Work: Missing work will be noted in PowerSchool with a 0% and missing label. Students are encouraged to submit missing assignments to replace the 0% as soon as possible and coordinate with their teacher if they have questions or extenuating circumstances. The goal of our assignments is to measure students’ progress with standards/curriculum, and we also strive to foster students’ life skills of responsibility and integrity. Assignments submitted beyond the deadline will be accepted conditionally and partial credit may be attained. Late work will not be accepted after the last day of the quarter.
Homework: Most days students will be able to begin their homework in class. Any unfinished work will become homework for that night. At the beginning of class, the next day the homework is due. If the student does not have the homework at that time, it is considered late.
Absences: If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to obtain a copy of the notes form a classmate or from our math website, as well as the handouts from the designated location in the classroom or on the website.
Classroom Community Essentials
- Prepared Daily: To start each day off on the right foot students must come with needed materials, completed assignments and a positive attitude.
- Responsibility: Students must not only be responsible for their actions but also for their own learning by keeping up with notes, upcoming assignments, contributing positively to discussions, and actively pursuing help when needed.
- Respect- Please respect the rights of other students to learn as well as the people and elements in the classroom/Zoom. Raise your hand virtually, use the comment section for math only and come to class on time so we can use all 30 minutes usefully.
- Cooperation: Sharing perspectives and ideas with others can only broaden your knowledge of understanding of the given concept.
