Eligibility
Activities Competitions:
CHSAA states in order to be eligible a student must be:
Enrolled and attending the school they are registered with.
Is representative of the school’s ideals in matters of citizenship and conduct.
Is enrolled in courses which offer, in aggregate, a minimum of 2.5 Academic units of credit as defined by the school’s accrediting agency (or school district) per semester and must not be failing more than the equivalent of one-half Academic unit of credit.
Chaparral High School believes that attendance in class is just as important as academic scores. As a result, Chaparral Activities Department has made the specific attendance requirement to be eligible to attend CHSAA competitions.
Maintaining less than 20% absenteeism for all classes.
School Dances:
Although academic requirements are not in place to be eligible to attend school dances, citizenship, conduct, and attendance requirements are.
Depending on admins discretion, those who have been recently suspended for any reason, are disrespectful to CHAP staff, or have a 20% or more absenteeism may be ineligible to attend both CHAP and other school dances.

Cords
Students are given graduation cords for the following achievements:
Top Ten of their class
4.0 GPA
3.75 - 3.99 GPA
3.5 - 3.75 GPA

Pins
Students are given graduation pins for the following achievements:
