Finding the Light in the 2025-2026 School Year!
Mr. Finch is a native Houstonian. His experience in theatre spans over 20 years! He graduated from Deer Park High School in 2007 and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Sam Houston State University in 2011. He has had the privilege to work with institutions such as TUTS, Stages Repertory Theatre, Texas Repertory Theatre (now defunct), and Stageworks Theatre. Some of Mr. Finch's favorite roles include: Tito Merelli in Lend Me A Tenor, Lord Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden, Thomas Jefferson in 1776, and Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors. In 2015, Mr. Finch won the 2015 BroadwayWorld Houston's Best Supporting Actor in a Play, and was also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical that same year, and was runner-up for the 2022 Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his role as Paravicini in Agatha Christie's, The Mouse Trap.
Mr. Finch still performs occasionally, but spends his time away from school with his son, Seth, gaming, or being a Dungeon Master for his D&D group.
Mr. Finch has been teaching Theatre Arts since 2016 and has been a proud Spillane Spartan since 2018. He has lead Spillane on to place 1st in the 2019 and 2022 MS UIL One-Act Play contests with the productions of Shakespeare's, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Stephen Gregg's, Small Actors, respectively. Mr. Finch has former students who have gone on to perform on Broadway, Television and Film, Opera, Modeling, and several performance mediums.
