About Me

I am excited to begin my 16th year in education! My career began in New York City as a 1^st grade teacher. I also taught grades 3 and 5 in all subjects for six years. My husband and I moved to Houston ten years ago and I continued teaching in Cy Fair at Ault , then Matzke Elementary. I joined the Pope family four years ago and I look forward to another great year!

Teaching and working with children is my calling and passion. Reading aloud is one of my favorite times of the classroom day because it provides the opportunity to share favorite books and carry authentic conversations about those books. In math and science, my goal is to support my students to become problem solvers and make discoveries while working cooperatively, and independently. I look forward to seeing my First Graders blossom into authors who write across various genres.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our two sweet girls. We love doing just about anything from playing board games, watching movies, trying out new restaurants and taking road trips. My other hobbies include reading, cooking, and shopping.
