Interest Meeting

Tryouts

There will be 3 tryout days. October 9, 11, & 17.

• Tryouts cost $15

• You can come to 1, 2 or all 3 days.

• They last from 3:15 to 4:45 at Copperfield Bowling Alley.

To make the team, we will consider…

• Bowling Score at tryouts

• Attitude

• Sportsmanship

• Rooting/being involved with teammates

• Grades at school - No pass, no play

Teams

There will 3 Teams. Each team can have 8 players on the roster, but only 5 will start per match

• • Varsity Boys

  • Varsity Girls

  • Junior Varsity (can be boys and girls)

Location & Times

Every practice and match will be at Copperfield Bowling Center

Each Practice starts at 3:10 and ends at 4:55

Each Match starts at 3:40, practice for the match starts at 3:20, be there by 3:10

All 3 teams play at the same time

Matches

Each match has 2 parts

Each starting 5 member will play two 1 vs. 1 games against a player from the other school.Subs are allowed after the 1st game. 

The teams come back together and each player alternates frames in the same game against the other school for 3 games. (2 points per game, 2 points for total pins, 8 total)

Letterman Jackets

Letterman jackets can be issued to Varsity bowlers who have bowled in at least 50% of the individual games in first part of a match. There are two individual games each match per starting bowler. Since we are not a UIL sport, you will have to pay for the letterman jacket.

Fees

$130 registration fee

• Includes shoes for practices/matches

• VIP Card - Let you bowl 2 games for free any day you want

• Payment will be made through School Cash

Dress Code

Copperfield requires the same dress code as Cy-Lakes.

For matches

• • You must wear jeans or khaki pants. Absolutely no holes - even tiny holes

  • If you are new, we will give you a collared shirt you must wear to matches

  • If you were on the team last year, it's the same shirt.

VIP Cards

If you make the team, you will be given a VIP card that lets you bowl 2 free games per day if you finish by 4:45. The cards will expire when the season is over.

Transportation

You will have to figure out your own transportation or carpool. There will not be any busses provided.

The top 2 teams in the East and West will advance into a 10 team regional site TBA.

Individuals advance as well. At least 4 boys and 4 girls will advance to regionals as singles.
