Welcome to Music!🎶

 Welcome to music at West Elementary! I am excited to return to the music classroom this year,  tasked with the goal of furthering my students' musical knowledge and love of the arts!  To provide information regarding my educational background, I graduated from Farmington High School in 2003.  I then attended Southeast Missouri State University,  earning my Bachelor's degree in K-12 Music Education.  At this time, I also obtained Elementary Education certification, as well as Middle School ELA certification, grades 5-9.  

Upon graduating from SEMO, I taught kindergarten music one year in the Poplar Bluff School District.  In 2008, I was hired to teach music at West Elementary School. While teaching at Central, I continued furthering my education to earn my Master's Degree in School Administration, then Specialist's Degree in School Administration (Superintendency)/Educational Leadership.  

I have taught a total of 19 years - 10 years as a fourth grade ELA teacher, 9 years as an elementary music teacher.  In the music classroom, I provide instrumental, choral, and dance instruction.  I love to play the trumpet and piano, as well as dance and sing.
