US Air Force Academy - The United States Air Force Academy is a competitive environment. Just applying to the Academy requires focus and determination. The Jonathan R. Reynolds Young Writers Workshop - Denison University, in Granville, Ohio, is hosting its 20th year of the Reynolds Young Writers Workshop. This is a week-long residential summer program in creative writing for current 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Program dates are June 15-22, 2014, and the cost is $1,300. Generous financial support is available for those who need it. DEADLINE: March 3, 2014. 

The Davidson Academy of Nevada - Apply for 2015-2016 School Year - The Davidson Academy of Nevada, a free public day school for profoundly gifted pupils on the University of Nevada, Reno campus, is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year. Unlike many traditional school settings, the Academy’s classes are not grouped by age-based grades, but by ability level, providing profoundly gifted young people an educational opportunity matched to their abilities, strengths and interests.  To be eligible to attend The Davidson Academy, students must be at the middle or high school level across all subject areas and score in the 99.9th percentile on IQ or college entrance tests, such as the SAT or ACT. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis with a final application deadline of April 1, 2015.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies grades 7-12 - Stanford will select top high school students from around the world to participate in engaging academic programs.  Students who are chosen will be responsible for all of their own expenses. More information can be found on the link provided.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies - Stanford Online High School is a highly selective independent school offering courses for grades 7–12, where dedicated teachers help talented students worldwide pursue their passions in real-time, online, seminar classes.

SportQuest Playing with Purpose Scholarship - The requirements for the scholarship are: must be a current high school sophomore, junior or senior; maintain a minimum "C" average or higher GPA; currently a varsity-level athlete in one or more sports; and a committed follower of Jesus Christ. DEADLINE: February 1, 2015.

SPI Abroad - A Study Abroad Immersion Experience with an Authentic Homestay - This unique study abroad program provides students an authentic homestay immersion experience coupled with a cross-cultural leadership and community service component. Students develop global perspectives and leadership skills that give them a competitive advantage in college admissions and future endeavors. Students can also earn college credit in language classes taken at the university in their destination city. Scholarships are available, deadline for application is March 1, 2015.

Seniors Exploring Engineering at Purdue - A free, day-long event at Purdue University in West Lafayette, geared toward young women who are interested in engineering. Monday, October 20, from 8am to 4:30pm. Registration deadline: October 12, 2014.

Purdue Polytechnic Summer Experiences - All camps are free. Includes breakfast snacks, lunch, t-shirt, & materials. Nominees that are selected will be notified with follow-up instructions.How do I sign up? Nominate yourself! Students must "self-nominate" online. All nominations will be reviewed by Purdue Polytechnic staff. Nominations are due by May 12, 2017.

Nursing Camp 2017:  Summer Sample of Nursing Skills & Simulation - Indiana University East School of Nursing and Health Sciences, in collaboration with East Indiana-Area Health Education Center (EI-AHEC), is offering this FREE two day Summer Sample of Nursing Skills and Simulation Camp for high school students with an interest in a career in nursing. Interested students should be entering their junior or senior year in the fall 2017 school year. Application deadline is June 2, 2017.

NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing - Award acknowledges the computing achievements and aspirations of young women, grades 9-12. Applicants should have a demonstrated, outstanding aptitude and interest in IT/computing, among other qualities. DEADLINE: November 2, 2014.

National YoungArts Foundation - If you have an interest and a talent in the arts, apply for the opportunity to become a YoungArts Winner. Benefits include up to a $10,000 monetary award, exclusive eligibility for recognition as a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Master classes with world-renowned artists, and access to scholarships, career opportunities and professional contacts. DEADLINE: October 17, 2014.

National Student Leadership Conference - Current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students who have demonstrated academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, maintain a "B" average, and leadership potential.  See your counselor for more information.  Counselors must submit information for students by December 1, 2016.

Mobile App Challenge - The App Challenge is a one-day competition for Indiana high school students competing for cash prizes, ranging from $100 to $500, and scholarships, ranging from $600 to $1000, by making the most creative Android apps based on assigned specifications during the 8-hour time window. The contest takes place on October 25 and the deadline to register your team of 2-3 students and an adult mentor is October 1.

IUPUI School of Informatics and Computing Summer Workshops - IUPUI's School of Informatics and Computing is hosting Summer Workshops for high school and middle school students, and registration is now open! This year they are offering the following week-long programs: Game Design using Unreal 4, Pokémon Training Camp, 3D Animation and Visual Effects, Digital Imaging, Digital Video, Mobile App and Mobile Game Development, Robotics, Programming, Advanced Web Programming, Applications of Bioinformatics for Personalized Medicine, and Building Open Source Medical Records Platform. DEADLINE: May 31, 2015.

IUPUI Mobile App Competition - The Mobile App Challenge is a one-day competition for Indiana high school students, who compete in teams for prizes by designing and building a mobile app.The Mobile App Challenge is open to students with any level of expertise. This will be a one day event held at IUPUI on November 4, 2017. See the website for further details and registration information.

IU Kelley School of Business' Up-Next Program - The Up-Next Business Academy brings together Indiana students from underrepresented populations to the Kelley School of Business to expose them to opportunities within the business world and educate them on the college admissions process. To qualify for consideration for participation in the program, students must have a 3.0 GPA minimum on a 4.0 scale (a 9.0 on our 12.0 scale) and be passionate about working in a diverse business world. Indiana Wesleyan Summer Academy - Make this your summer of opportunity! Indiana Wesleyan University is hosting The Wildcat Summer Academy. Camps are offered in the area of Art, Nursing, Theatre, or Music. Each camp provides unique enrichment, inspiration and the opportunity to develop skills to be used for a lifetime. In addition to learning, students from multiple camps will gather together and enjoy meals, activities and fellowship. Camp will be held June 25 - June 30.

Indiana State University Summer Honors Program - Students will stay on campus for one week, enroll in a seminar to earn one transferable college credit, and receive a $1,000 scholarship if they later choose to attend ISU. To be eligible to attend students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and must be a rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior.  Aside from participating in challenging college coursework, students also benefit by living on campus and learning what college life entails.

Indiana State University's Summer Honors Program - The Summer Honors program is a week-long University program that enables high school students to explore their academic interests and experience campus life, all while earning a college credit. Student can choose from 15 different seminar topics during the week of July 19-25. The program is open to high school students in the graduating classes of 2016, 2017 and 2018 who have at least a “B” average or higher and a positive recommendation letter. The admission deadline is June 5, 2015 and the full cost of the program ($375) is due by June 26, 2015.

Indiana's Student Advisory Council - The Indiana Department of Education is now accepting applications from juniors and seniors to join Indiana's first Student Advisory Council. Twice per year, the Student Advisory Council will have a meeting with Indiana State Superintendent Glenda Ritz to discuss issues in K-12 schools from a student's perspective. Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge - Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge (FELC) is a five-day summer program for rising sophomore, junior, and senior high school students. Students spend the night on college campuses, working during the day to start their own company. With activities ranging from speech contests to a commercial competition, students experience free enterprise firsthand and learn how to start and lead a business.   The summer 2014 tuition is $125 (covers meals, housing and all activities). The closest one is at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan, during July 13-17.

Drone STEM scholarship - Scholarship recipients will get free access to Drone Pilot Ground School (usual cost is $299), an in-depth test prep course for the FAA’s certification exam to become a commercial drone pilot, and will also have their FAA exam fee of $150 covered, for a total value of about $450.

Drive Now - TXT L8R Social Media Contest - The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, Indiana Department of Labor, Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana State Police have partnered to award $5,000 scholarships to students who compose the most creative and viral social media posts on Twitter, Instagram and Vine. The contest runs from April 1 through April 30, 2014. 

DePauw Academy - DePauw Academy is a weeklong (June 14-20) pre-college program for highly motivated and academically oriented students.  From taking classes with our passionate professors in a wide range of subjects, participating in co-curricular programs, and living in a residence hall, students will get a taste of what it’s like to be a college student. Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply: be a rising high school senior, have above a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), demonstrate strong writing and communication skills through the application essay, and submit an application essay that clearly articulates an interest in participating in the program. To be considered for admission, applicants must submit an online application at http://www.depauw.edu/depauwacademy, and mail in an official copy of their high school transcript by May 10th, 2015.

Davidson Young Scholars - The national Davidson Young Scholars program provides FREE support, information and resources to families of profoundly gifted students. Through an online community and annual event, Young Scholars have the opportunity to meet others with similar interests and abilities, and utilize their talents to maximize their educational potential and make a difference in the lives of others. Parents collaborate with a team of knowledgeable Family Consultants who provide individualized services based on each family’s unique needs, most often in the areas of educational advocacy and planning, social and emotional development, and enrichment opportunities. The Davidson Young Scholars application deadline is the first of each month.

College of Court Reporting - College of Court Reporting charges by the credit hour. All of the machine shorthand classes are six credit hours, academics are three credit hours, and internships are one credit hour. Cost is $375 per credit hour for online students and $225 per credit hour for onground students. See website for further details.

2015 THINK Summer Institute – Three-Week Academic Residential Program - The Davidson Institute is seeking gifted teens who are interested in attending the 2015 THINK Summer Institute.  THINK is a three-week residential summer program on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno where students can earn up to six college credits by completing two university courses. The 2015 THINK Summer Institute will run from July 11 through Aug. 1. Tuition is $3,400 and covers course credits, books and materials, room and board and the cost of planned activities. Need-based scholarships are available. To qualify, students must be 13 to 16 years old during THINK and must meet or exceed composite SAT score of 1130 (excludes writing portion) or ACT score of 26. Due to limited space availability, it is strongly encouraged that applicants submit their application before the deadline. APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 1, 2015.
