  1. Communicate regularly with your child's teacher

  2. Practice skills at home, help with homework, and study for tests

  3. Check backpacks and planners regularly

  4. Talk to your child about current classroom topics

  5. Display a positive attitude toward education and encourage them to read

  6. Check grades and progress regularly 

  7. Volunteer and / or join PTO

  8. Attend school functions together
