Service as action is a component of the curriculum in which student take action, using their skills and understanding, in order to make a difference in the lives of other people or to preserve the environment.

In Grades 6-8, service as action occurs as extensions of conceptual learning in lessons throughout the various subjects.

In Grade 9, the students take a Civics course and the Civic Engagement unit focuses on service as action. Students consider their passions and interests and plan their own service involvement, taking action, reflecting and sharing the experience with their classmates and teacher.
