About Me

       My name is Melissa Patterson Anderson, and I have been an educator in Cannon County since 1999.  I attended Woodbury Grammar as a child and graduated from Cannon County High School in 1992.  I graduated from MTSU in 1999 and later received my Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist degrees from Tennessee Tech University.

     My teaching career began at West Side School and continued there until 2021.   I have taught fifth through eighth grades in all subject areas. I taught 6th grade for over 17 years. I moved to Woodbury Grammar in 2021 and taught 6-7th grade Math.  I am so very excited and honored to be a part of the fourth year of Cannon County Middle School!    Teaching is my passion!!! I love learning and sharing new things with my students.  The look of discovery on their faces is what drives me to continue!   

   I have two children, Collin and Ellie.  Collin is 28 and Ellie is 18. Both of my children and my daughter-in-law, Jordan, were/are part of the Cannon County school system and community. Also, I have an amazing and talented six-year-old granddaughter, Lexie!
