Coaching Staff

Eric Nagl (Head Wrestling Coach)

    Eric graduated from Carroll High School in 1995.  Eric was involved in Football, Baseball and Track.  Eric graduated from UNI in 2000 with a Special Education Degree and Coaching Minor.  He was an assistant varsity coach under Randy Alger from 2000-2002.  In 2002 he became the middle school wrestling coach until 2006.  In 2006-2007 he became the head wrestling coach and has been there since.  Eric also coaches football where he has been since he was hired in 2000.  

Keith Weber (Assistant Coach)

    Keith is a graduated from Carroll High School in 1991.  Keith participated in wrestling under Dave Dunning and Tim Hughes.  Keith works at Pella in Carroll.  Keith coached at the middle school for the 2012-13 season.  He also volunteered with the Carroll Cardinals youth program during 2012-13 season.

Marty Vanderheiden (Assistant Coach)

    Marty joins the staff the 2016-17 school year.  Marty has been with our middle school program for two years prior to taking the assistant position. Marty is a Carroll High graduate in 1992.   Marty participated in wrestling under Dave Dunning and Tim Hughes.  Marty was also involved in Football and Track while he was in high school.  Marty works at Volquartson Customs in Carroll.

Taylor Berger (Assistant Coach)

    Taylor graduated from Carroll High school in 2011.  Taylor was a state champion his senior year and set many records at Carroll High School.  Taylor participated in football and wrestling while in high school.  Taylor pursued his dream of wrestling in college at the University of Northern Iowa under Coach Schwabb.  Taylor Graduated from UNI.  Taylor currently works at Al's Corner delivering propane.  Taylor was coached by Eric Nagl, Kevin Feld, Keaton Wanninger and Brian Hogue.

Dan Drake (Volunteer)

    Dan is a CRB graduate.  Dan wrestled under Kirk Davis while at Coon Rapids Bayard.  Dan graduated from CRB.  Dan is one of the key guys who runs our youth wrestling program (Carroll Cardinals).    Dan also owns an electric business with a buddy of his.  

Middle School Coaches

Joe Daniels

Joe is Carroll High graduate.  Joe Currently works at St. Anthony Regional Hospital.  Joe is also a military vet, serving in the Iowa National Guard.  Joe was coached by Randy Alger, Brian Hogue and Eric Nagl.

Eric Hahn

Eric is a Carroll High graduate as well.  Eric has helped out with Girls softball as well.
