Classwork Guidelines/Help

In 5th grade math, we have classwork 4-5 times a week. Also, I assign the amount of work that would be completed in 20 minutes. HOMEWORK GUIDELINES:

All Assignments will meet the following criteria or it will not be collected:

1. ALL math assignments will be done in PENCIL only.

2. All problems will be written out with all work shown (display your thinking).

3. Work will be done neatly and orderly.

4. Circle, highlight, or underline your final answer.

5. Classwork will be collected at the end of the class .

6. Students can come to my room during intervention/enrichment for classwork assistance!

7. Do every assignment as if you are trying to impress someone.

HOMEWORK HELP:

1. Every problem in our workbooks has an "Example #" next to it. This refers to the example problem that explains how to do that particular problem in the lesson. For some reason, 5th graders refuse to go back into the lesson.

1. After EACH section, do the SELF-CHECKS!!! It's an online quiz that you can see how well you do!

1. ALL odd problems have the correct answer in the back of the text. USE THEM! The student still has to shown how they arrived at their answer, BUT you know you are doing it correctly if your answer matches!

2. ALSO, you can do EXTRA PRACTICE "ODDS" for more problems to practice!
