Over the past 25 years in education, I’ve taught in every grade level from 1-6.  Prior to becoming a Library Media Specialist, I worked for CCSU as an adjunct professor as a teacher in their undergraduate education program and supervised student teachers around the state.

Since joining the CIS community, a few popular programs that have been implemented are the "Lunch and Lit" program, and Makerspace with STEAM activities which challenge students to problem solve and think creatively.

Our library has been fortunate to hire some amazing authors to work with our students which include Victoria Jamieson, Lauren Tarshis, Beth Vrabel, Rob Buyea, and Wendy Mass -just to name a few.   I love that new technology and changing future needs have challenged our expectations to evolve and reimagine how we support students.  Examples include lessons focusing on digital literacy/safety, coding,  robotics instruction in addition to the library, and reading advisory focus.

When my nose is not in a book, I can be found at the pottery studio, doing yoga, or in the woods hiking with my dog, Bailey. I also love to travel which encourages me to explore different cultures and broaden my pursuit of knowledge while exposing me to new and exciting situations.

My husband and I have lived in Canton since 1994.  We are volunteer ushers at the Bushnell in Hartford. We love to watch our daughter Zoe sing and remain avid fans of the CHS girl’s lacrosse team, even though Zoe has graduated from the program.
