I'm Mrs. Schmitz and I teach 4th grade at Gregory Intermediate School. This is going to be a great year, and I'm so happy we get to spend it together!

I grew up just down the road from CAM in Shelbyville. Shelbyville was a great place to be, but I'm so happy to be a Raider now!
I graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology from SIUE.
I attended EIU for my teaching certification and later graduated from EIU with my Master's in Elementary Education and my Reading Teacher Certification. I have Elementary and Middle School endorsements in math, reading, science and social studies.
I also recently graduated from ISU with my Master's in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics. I love learning almost as much as I love teaching!
I'm happily married to my awesome husband, Mark. We have a labradoodle, Harold, that is our entire world! He enjoys long naps on fuzzy blankets, going on adventures with us, silently judging us and chewing up the remotes to all of our electronic devices.
Before teaching 4th grade, I was the Elementary RtI Coordinator for both Bond and Gregory. This is my 8th year teaching 4th grade and I love every second of it! Teaching really is my favorite and I can not imagine doing anything else!
