Austin Clark
Starting in 2026, Mr. Clark is the Director of Bands at Cameron ISD. Excited to start a new chapter in his career, he is excited to continue the tradition of excellence in Cameron.
Since 2022, Mr. Clark has been at Cameron ISD serving in the role of Assistant HS Band Director and Percussion Director, teaching the junior high percussion classes, HS JV Concert Band, and assisting with the Varsity Concert Band and the Marching Band. Under his direction, the JV Band has earned multiple UIL Sweepstakes awards and several first-division ratings both on stage and in sight-reading. With his assistance, the C.H. Yoe Marching Band has earned multiple UIL Sweepstakes, Area appearances, and State Marching Band Appearances.
Mr. Clark is a Louisiana native and graduated from Northwestern State University with a degree in Music Education and has studied percussion with Mr. Ken Green, Oliver Molina, and Troy Breaux. In his time at Northwestern, he performed in the Spirit of Northwestern marching band, the NSU Percussion Ensemble, a variety of concert bands, the Northwestern Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir, and the Sinfonia Mens Chorus. He also spent the summer of 2014 marching with the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mr. Clark is a member of TMEA, ATSSB, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and an educator artist for Salyers Percussion.
Outside of band, Mr. Clark loves spending time with his wife Mary and his daughter Prudence.

Alissa Amaechi
Mrs. Amaechi directs the Cameron Junior High 7th Grade Band, all beginner woodwind classes, and assists with the C. H. Yoe High School Band.
Mrs. Amaechi is a flute player and woodwind specialist who received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Sam Houston State University in May 2013. While at SHSU, Mrs. Amaechi gave private lessons at Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD and wrote her thesis titled “Music, It’s What You Need.” After graduating Cum Laude and “with Highest Honors” from SHSU, she moved to Cross Roads, Texas where she taught K-5 music, 6-12 Band, Jazz Band, Choir, and assisted with One Act Play. While there, Mrs. Amaechi took students to the Area UIL Marching Competition, helped students to participate in the All-Region Band, and had students qualify for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition.
In 2021, Mrs. Amaechi received her Master of Music Education Degree from Texas Tech University. She is excited about this year and looks forward to working with the students in order to help them reach their full potential!

Sarah Vajgert
Mrs. Vajgert teaches the 8th Grade Band, beginner brass classes, and assists with the C. H. Yoe High School Band. During her time at Cameron Junior High, the 8th Grade Band has made consistent first divisions and qualified, twice, for the State level of the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series. Mrs. Vajgert is blessed to have a son, three cats, and the most wonderful husband, Blake.
Mrs. Vajgert is proud to be working for Cameron ISD and looks forward to helping her students grow and develop as musicians!

David Jenkins
Mr. Jenkins comes to us from Mississippi, where he was most recently Assistant Director of Bands at Neshoba Central High School. In this role, he taught 6-12 percussion, indoor drumline, high school jazz band, and assisted with the concert bands and the marching band.
Prior to his appointment at Neshoba, Mr. Jenkins was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Southeastern Louisiana University. At SLU, he taught the Spirit of the Southland Drumline, the SLU Percussion Ensemble, and was a conducting assistant with the Northlake Community Band while earning a Master of Music degree in percussion performance and instrumental conducting. During this time, he worked extensively with bands throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Mr. Jenkins is also a proud alumnus of Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
