Jon Schriver

Mr. Schriver is in his eleventh year of teaching and third year as Director of Bands for Cameron ISD. Prior to arriving in Cameron, Mr. Schriver spent eight years as Director of Bands in Valley Mills ISD. Under his direction, the Valley Mills High School Band received seven consecutive UIL Sweepstakes Awards, was named a two-time TMEA Honor Band Finalist and ATSSB OPS State Finalist, as well as placing 2nd Place at the 2017 UIL State Marching Competition, and 1st Place at the 2018 UIL State Marching Competition.

Mr. Schriver is excited to continue the tradition of excellence associated with the Yoe Band Program.

Alissa Brown

Alissa Brown is in her eighth year as one of the Assistant Band Directors for Cameron ISD. Ms. Brown is a flute player and woodwind specialist who received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Sam Houston State University in May 2013. While at SHSU, Ms. Brown gave private lessons at Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD and wrote her thesis titled, “Music, It’s What You Need.” After graduating Cum Laude and “with Highest Honors” from SHSU, she moved to Cross Roads, Texas where she taught K-5 music, 6-12 Band, Jazz Band, Choir, and assisted with One Act Play. While there, Ms. Brown took students to the Area UIL Marching Competition, helped students to participate in the All-Region Band, and had students qualify for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition. In 2021, Ms. Brown received her Master of Music Education Degree from Texas Tech University. She is excited about this year and looks forward to working with the students in order to help them reach their full potential.

Ms. English is in her thirteenth year of teaching and second year as an Assistant Director for Cameron ISD. Under Ms. English's direction, the 8th Grade Band made Straight 1s in Concert and Sight Reading. Their recordings were entered into the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series where they were state finalists, their March achieving third in the state.


Ms. English is proud to be working for Cameron ISD and looks forward to helping her students grow and develop as musicians.


Austin Clark is in his fifth year of teaching and his first year at Cameron ISD. Mr. Clark began his teaching career at Connally ISD before spending two years teaching at West ISD. Mr. Clark served as the Percussion Director and the middle school non-varsity band director at both schools. In Cameron, Mr. Clark oversees the percussion program and leads the high school non-varsity band.


Mr. Clark is a Louisiana native where he attended Northwestern State University and received his bachelor's degree in Music Education. While in college, he performed in multiple ensembles including marching with the Louisiana Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2014.
