About Me

My name is Sherry Herman, I have been employed by Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute as a Transition Advisor for Hibriten High School since January 2011. I take pride in working with high school students and helping them with important future decisions regarding their careers, post-secondary education, and obtaining their goals. I advise seniors with completing their community college application, requesting transcripts, choosing a program of study, FAFSA and scholarship completion, Accuplacer/NCDAPP testing, and class registration.

I also enjoy working with our 9th, 10th, and 11th graders at Hibriten. CCC&TI offer many classes through the state funded Career & College Promise program.This program offers eligible students dual enrollment classes in which they receive both high school and college credit tuition free. This gives students the opportunity to take college transfer classes and get a head start on completing their general education requirements before entering a four year institution. Our technical pathways offer students opportunities to earn certificates in many career areas.

In my personal life, I have been married to Jeff Herman since 1991 and I have two beautiful children. My daughter Sydney is a Dental Hygienist for Hudson Family Dentistry and my son Blake graduated from UNC Charlotte in Electrical Engineering and works for Blue Ridge Electric as an Associate Engineer. My whole family enjoys watching sports, especially football! We love the water, whether it be pool water or the lake. We love water sports and boating and we are all summer lovers!
